Help Plants Keep Their Cool This Summer

With the temperamental weather we have in the UK, the summer sun is often a welcome sight. We all know the importance of protecting ourselves from strong sunlight, especially for gardeners and those who spend time outdoors, but we are not the only ones who need shielding from harmful rays.
With greenhouses capable of reaching temperatures of over 90 degrees farenheit , your plants could be in need of some sun block of their own.
During summer, the sun is at its highest point and even sporadic sunshine on cloudy days can be damaging. Coolglass, from leading plant and garden care brand Bayer Garden, is an easy to apply paint-on shading. The powder is mixed with water and can then be applied to exterior glass with a paint brush or sprayer, giving vital shade for plants.
Coolglass clings to the glass surface and withstands even the heaviest rainstorm, while being easily wiped of with a duster when the season is over. A single pack of Coolglass contains four sachets that can be used to cover an area of 3.7 sq.m (40 sq ft), sufficient for a 6ft x 8ft greenhouse.
If plants are not the only things living in your greenhouse, help is at hand with the Bayer Garden Greenhouse Flycatcher. These hanging glue strips have an aureoline yellow surface which attracts and so helps control whitefly, blackfly and other greenhouse and conservatory pests. The strips are pesticide free and contain long-lasting low-tac glue.
