SODIUM CHLORATE GONE FOREVER

With just a few weeks to go before everyone must dispose of their personal supply of sodium chlorate – the deadline set by the Pesticides Safety Directorate is 10 May 2010 – gardeners are looking for new solutions for the control of tough weeds.
Bayer Garden has a range of products that are helping to fill this gap. Long Lasting Ground Clear, which is a systemic broad spectrum residual weedkiller, provides season long control of difficult weeds such as thistles and nettles on waste ground, around trees and shrubs or on gravel areas. It kills tough weeds and roots and keeps the ground clear for up to four months.
Super Strength Glyphosate is a concentrated systemic weedkiller that is ideal for controlling difficult and deep rooted perennials, including ivy, brambles and the dreaded Japanese Knotweed. It biodegrades fully allowing the area can be replanted as soon as the weeds have died.
Another tough systemic weedkiller in the Bayer Garden range is Tree Stump Killer. It is particularly suited to killing tree stumps, brushwood and brambles.
To make it as easy as possible for consumers, Bayer Garden has incorporated its innovative soluble sachet technology into all these products. All gardeners have to do is drop one sachet into a watering can, dissolve it and then apply to the target area. There is no measuring or handling of the chemical, which is preferable for experienced and novice gardeners alike.
