IN FRESH WATER AT CHELSEA
We are making our Chelsea Flower Show (20 – 24 May) debut this May, supporting the
unique display of underwater flora from the tropics created by David Domoney, winner
of 17 Royal Horticultural Society medals. Titled ‘Aqua Hortus with Bayer’,
Science For A Better Life, this truly authentic horticultural exhibit is the first
ever of underwater plants at the Chelsea Flower Show. The visual impact will be
striking. Visitors will see a wall of freshwater plants, each resting on a bed of
black volcanic aggregate and shown in a bespoke glass case.

‘Aqua Hortus with Bayer’ has all the strengths of transparency, clarity,
all-round vision, innovation and excitement that we associate with Bayer.
At Bayer Garden the quality and effectiveness of the products are of paramount importance
to us, as is the need to maintain a balance between the control of garden problems
with the needs of the environment. So it’s fantastic we have been able to work with
David Domoney to create something that is a true representation of our values. When
we asked David what inspired him to design the display he told us about his experiences
as a master diver and desire to excite people about the possibilities of freshwater
plants.
After looking at the images on this page we hope you’ll agree with us that we are
creating something that captures the imagination – the wall of individual cabinets,
each one different and strikingly framed in black, will create a real buzz.
As a diverse and global science company, Bayer is absolutely committed to sustainability
in all aspects of its business – not only in the products themselves, but also in
the way we work with our local communities, our people and, most importantly, the
environment.
