Whitefly


Common sap sucking pest found around the garden on a wide range of plants including all brassicas, outdoor plants, bedding, greenhouse and house plants. Small white flies (looking like small white moths), which multiply quickly and rise in clouds when plants are disturbed. Developing scales of immature nymphs may also be seen on the undersides of leaves.  Some species show resistance to particular chemicals.  Whitefly can be a problem on pea crops.

If pea plants are in flower spray in the morning or preferably in the evening when bees and other beneficial insects are less likely to be foraging.
