Tortrix moth

The larvae of the Tortrix moth can bore into the closed buds or they cause irregular shaped holes in leaves.  Leaflets are spun together by fine silken threads.  Brown or green maggots may be found moving about  inside the leaves.

The easiest method of control is to pick off affected leaves or squash the leaves between your thumb and finger to kill the caterpillar.

There is no chemical control available for this problem.
