Pear Gall Midge
Pear midge, a tiny fly that emerges in spring, where the females will lay eggs in the pear blossom shortly before the buds open. Known as the white bud stage. Once hatched the larvae that develop inside the pear fruitlets can devastate the most promising pear harvest. The infested pear fruitlets are seen to grow faster and feel softer than the healthy fruitlets.
