Lily beetle

Bright red/orange beetles, larger than a ladybird are a severe pest of garden lillies.  The beetles feed on the leaves of lillies almost as soon as they start coming up.  the larvae of these beetles which are reddish/ brown also feed on the plants later in the summer.  These grubs cover themselves in the digested leaf material as protection against birds who would eat them.

Cultural measure: Remove and destroy any beetles or grubs when they are seen.

Product solution: Spray lillies before the lily beetle are seen. Provado Ultimate Bug Killer Concentrate 2, Ready to Use, aerosol.
