Found on flowers, fruit and vegetables. Petals look ragged and unsightly. Soft-skinned fruits may have holes eaten into them. Difficult pest to control as they remain high up in plants and feed at night. They are not affected by any garden pesticides.
Cultural measures: Trap earwigs using upturned plant pots stuffed with straw and placed on top of canes, level with flower heads. Ensure good hygiene and thorough cultivation of land.
