Canker - fungal
Fungal canker causes the death of the plants inner bark. Affects stems, branches and twigs of a wide variety of trees and shrubs, particularly apple and pear trees. The infection site can become depressed into the bark, girdling the entire stem, restricting the up take of water and nutrients. Shots beyond the canker wilt and die. Cultural measures: Cut off damaged branches a few inches below the infection site.
Product Solution: Spray with Fruit and Vegetable Disease Control in the autumn and apply Arbrex Seal and Heal to any pruned sites.
