Growing edibles in the greenhouse

Click here for your short guide on how to grow various edibles in a greenhouse.

Having a plentiful supply of sweet, flavourful tomatoes, just ripe from the vine, is one of the great pleasures of greenhouse gardening.

Both cordon and bush varieties can be grown, so the sensible option is to grow several varieties, from beefsteak to cherry, in containers or border soil, ensuring that compost or soil does not dry out.

Side shoots need to be regularly pinched out and the main stem of cordons supported by vertical wire or cane in the greenhouse, and then pinched out once the main stem has produced five of six flower trusses.

A liquid feed such as Phostrogen Tomato Food will help fruits to develop.
